We come together under airstrikes, from Palestine to Lebanon to the world to collectively call you for urgent practice of general world strikes to stop the genocide and Zionist occupation of our lands and people. Organizing an effective general strike that has the power to exert pressure and disrupt the flow of genocidal capital only requires the participation of 7% of workers worldwide. Workers of the world, put the multi-scalar power of your labor resistance at work! As our collective life cannot wait any longer, we plead you all to consider this call to strike to be effective immediately. For trade union organizations and groups who need to communicate in advance, we advise you to adhere to the consensus-based starting date of October 1st, 2024. Strike against the airstrikes. Strike against colonial systems of genocide. We collectively remind you that the genocide won’t stop if we, the workers of the world, don’t stop the world economy that makes it!

How many genocides do you need to bear witness to before you withdraw your non-vital work in protest? What a shame to be living and getting killed in a world where war is the most profitable industry. With billions of dollars in aid from the United States (just yesterday, the U.S. confirmed an additional $8,7 bn aid package to Israel) and arms imports exports from/to the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden and Spain, the Zionist entity has killed at least 42,252 Palestinians, 16,500 of which are children, injured 95,921 and displaced 1.9 million Palestinians in Gaza. According to a study published in the scientific journal the Lancet in July 2024, the real death toll in Palestine could possibly be more than 186,000 martyrs.

Just yesterday on September 27th, the colonial Zionist entity has saturation bombed the densely populated southern suburbs of Beirut, razing to the ground 7 residential buildings in a matter of seconds, assassinating the anti-colonial leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and leaving thousands of families displaced on the streets. As Israel continues to violate Lebanon’s territorial sovereignty while repeating the very same genocidal textbook of mass dispossession, terror and manipulation it has been deploying in Gaza for nearly a year, the revolutionary power of grief will never cease to guide us in multi-generational resistance. After launching over 3,000 airstrikes in the southern Lebanese territories during the past 11 months, Israel has drastically expanded its genocidal project and mass displacement into Lebanon in the last two weeks, killing over 1,541 martyrs – and still counting, injuring 5,278 and displacing over a million with airstrikes as frequent as 1,100 per 12 hours on Monday September 23rd. The people of Lebanon have been forced to stop all non-vital work and education to flee the genocidal assault and/or provide relief and mutual aid to one another.

If you live in the Global North, your taxes; i.e., your labor, is funding this genocidal assault on the people of Palestine and Lebanon. If you live in Egypt, Jordan, the U.S., Brazil, Turkey, the U.K., the UAE, Azerbaijan, Italy, Greece, Kazakhstan, Russia, Gabon, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo and Albania, your government is fuelling colonial expansion through supplying the Zionist occupation with energy deals – instead of truly sanctioning Israel with a global energy embargo. Just yesterday, genocider-in-chief Benjamin Netanyahu presented at the UN General Assembly, two colonial maps of a Zio-American empire. The first colonial map shows our trans-millennial lands razed to the ground from Palestine and Lebanon to Syria, Iraq, Iran and Yemen. The second map shows neighbouring Arab states continuously normalizing with Israel to create an imperial land bridge “connecting Asia and Europe”, where the empire would “lay rail lines, energy pipelines and fiber optic cables”. All conscious people of the world cannot allow this genocidal, ecocidal and energicidal colonial expansion to continue with our blood in plain sight. It is clearer now than ever before that Israel’s genocidal project won’t stop except when the global economy that bolsters it transformatively ceases its support and truly shares the pain and the grief of our struggle. Criminalize Zionism all over the world, normalize resistance and honor collective grief through refusing to work.

1,100 airstrikes targeting homes in only 12 hours = 1,5 airstrikes per minute.

For nearly a year, the whole world has been able to attest how an imperial global economy of war that profits and expands off the genocide of our people and shields Israel from accountability. The real “iron dome” of Israel is Europe, the U.S. and all normalizing states who are to be held responsible for murdering and poisoning us in Palestine and Lebanon, while lucratively fuelling the occupation. Conjoning our voices for Gaza and intermittently protesting around the world is not enough. Most of our fields of labor and places of study have been occupied, seized, monitored and domineered by a global network of Zionism. If we don’t materialize our collective power into everyday practice, systemic genocide and settler-colonialism will continue to expand.

We call on anti-colonial student groups, trade unions and field/area-based collectives standing with Palestine against the genocide, located all around the world, to replicate and rearticulate our call with a focus on their fields of operation, activation and study. Our struggle for libration extends from Palestine to Lebanon, to Sudan and Syria and all oppressed people in the world. Make use of the collective power of your labor resistance. Capitalism always produces genocide. We cannot work for this.

The least we can do is transmuting our labor to end the genocide in Gaza and all of Palestine and halt the regional expansion and global fortification of the Zionist Military Machine to liberate our world from Zionism, once and for all. There can be no business as usual during genocide. What will you do to take care of collective needs and public necessities as you strike?

People of the world, as we witness the earth that birthed us smothered by the rubble of our homes, we plead you not to fall trap to defeatism and mass distraction. Our struggle is long and persistent. Resistance fills us with an unquenchable trans-generational love. We urge you to:

🫀 do not go to work;

🫀 do not buy anything;

🫀 support mutual aid efforts in Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, Yemen and Syria;

🫀 take care of the Earth;

🫀 disrupt academic activities and transmute them in service of our anti-militarist collective action;

🫀 disrupt and dismantle the military-industry-academic-medical-economic-entertainment complex;

🫀 provide for each other’s needs and organize a collective flow of sustenance centered around local produce, so our global strike can be sustainably repeated until our goals are attained;

🫀 riot, protest and organize continuous direct actions;

🫀 provide communal solace and community care;

🫀 agree from the start on caring abolitionist frameworks to generatively deal with both internal and external conflicts;

🫀 create alternative health, education and communication systems;

🫀 imagine and plot our collective liberation!

 

Nurture each other and starve the system. Create counter-militarist systems of trust, connection and world revolution. Take care of each other to sustain your collective ability to strike and your power to resist genocidal capital. Work for the commons, devote yourselves to collective liberation and become militantly in love.
